Because 66AF isn't Navi?

This is Navi. the page you linked states:CL_DEVICE_NAME : gfx1010This is the identifier for Navi. It's not vega as all Vega is gfx90x.Googling gfx1010 will confirm this.

Even if these are all true, none if it really tells us anything about efficiency without the context if chip size, power usage and number of transistors. And efficiency (power, cost, performance...

MEM_CACHE_SIZE isn't VRAM, because the 2060's MEM_CACHE is 491520.

It's definitely Navi, which is gfx10.Also, not VLIW2. Still quad-SIMD with 1 instruction width per SIMD. It's GCN6, which should temper expectations a bit.Z-buffer depth was also locked to 16-bit,...

Over half the performance of VII in compute.... with only 20 CUs would be pretty good. Looks to be a little under half the perf of a 2080 also in OpenGL which is typically a disadvantage for AMD anyway.

Well if you look at the responses to your post in the hardware group, the ID seems to correspond to a Vega20 part in the Linux drivers

That would be the minimum i would expect yes.If they couldn't do that then there would have been no point in moving to a new node.

OK, so it's somewhere between 10% and 250% faster than an RX 580. Glad we narrowed it down.

I don’t think it is clear what those wafers are though. We assume they are buying the Zen 2 I/O die from GF for example. I didn’t mean to imply AMD isn’t doing business with GF still. I just think...

If it were to have ~Vega64 performance, then it would be competing vs RTX2070 (and the cut down model- with the RTX2060). They'd have no RTX, so would have to cost a bit lower (maybe ~$400 and ~$300)....

Navi may not need HBM to be quick. More HBM3 and low cost HBM were expected this year, the latter one being cost competetive with GDDR (and also easier to implement with 512-bit bus and no interposer...
